The Path to Repair

1

Inspect

We look for both visible and concealed signs of moisture intrusion.

A thorough inspection is consider of the exterior finish, transitions, windows, doors, rooflines, flashing, sealants, and other potential entry points.

2

Test

The use of appropriate moisture testing and readings are used to help determine whether moisture is present behind or within affected areas.

This testing will help identify areas that may not be obvious from a visual inspection alone.

3

Find the Source

Identifying the source of the water is essential.

Potential entry points may include:

  • Failed or deteriorated sealants

  • Improper or damaged flashing

  • Cracks and openings

  • Window and door transitions

  • Roofline connections

  • Drainage problems

  • Other exterior penetrations

The goal is to correct the source—not simply cover the symptom.

4

Repair

We will restore damaged systems and correct the conditions allowing water to enter.

The repair process will address both the damage and the source of the moisture, followed by appropriate confirmation that the repair has addressed the problem.

Water Intrusion May Not Be What You See

Hear from Above & Beyond

Hear directly from the owner of Above & Beyond Design and Construction Services

Water can enter through small cracks, failed sealants, flashing problems, windows, rooflines, and other vulnerable areas—and the damage may continue behind the exterior finish before visible signs appear.

In this short video, we explain what homeowners should look for, why water intrusion can be difficult to detect, and why identifying the source is an important part of the repair process.

Watch the video to learn what may be happening behind your EIFS or stucco finish.
